We hand select the stakes especially for your gate, thus making it a one of a kind item.

There are different heights and widths to choose from and we can vary the number of stakes to meet your personal demands.

We also offer large double entry gates as an available option.

This attractive and strong tree guard is 2 feet in diameter and comes in 3 different heights (custom heights and diameters available on demand).

Fencing

The processing of the cedar and the manufacturing of the fences take place on Salt Spring Island.

The first step is cutting the cedar to length.

Our cedar fencing is available in a 3, 4 and 

6  1/2 foot height, but we also offer custom heights on demand.

Once the cedar is cut to length the logs are split, working with the grain of the wood, using a froe and  mallet. Great skill is required in order to split the cedar in long stakes. Every stake measures approximately 1 x 1  1/2  inches. 

The final stage is the wiring of all the  individual stakes into a 30 feet roll of fencing. The standard spacing between the stakes is approximately  

3  1/2 inches.

Smaller or wider spacing is available on demand.

Deer fencing
You can deer proof your property (or just your vegetable garden) with our deer fencing that is 6 feet and 6 inches high: the perfect height to stop deer.

Deer fencing has a stake space of 3 inches.

We offer our deer fencing only in Premium Grade Cedar. Premium Grade Cedar is locally salvaged, first (old) growth, tight grained cedar; the best of the best available, and extremely rare and limited. 

Our Premium Grade stakes are split by hand from already fallen trees that are 250 to over a thousand years old. These ancient logs are salvaged, most of the times on foot, from the most remote coastal areas in British Columbia.
